Regulation of the Degree Course in Veterinary Medicine Joint Faculty-Students Committee

Art. 1 Aim 

This Regulation governs the methods of operation and define the composition of the Joint Faculty-Students Committee, hereinafter referred to as the Joint Committee of the Degree Course (DC) in Veterinary Medicine. 

Art 2. Institution 

The DC in Veterinary Medicine establishes a Joint Committee in accordance with the provisions of art. 36 of the Statute of the University of Pisa. 

Art 3. Composition 

The Joint Committee of the DC is made up of an equal number of teachers and student representatives in the DC Council and is chaired by the DC President or their delegate. The number, composition and methods of identifying members are established in the University General Regulations. 

Art 4. Functions 

4.1 The following functions are attributed to the Joint Committee of the DC (Article 36 – Statute of the University of Pisa): 

  • to carry out a monitoring activity of the training and the quality of teaching as well as the service activity to students by professors and researchers;
  • to identify the indicators for evaluating the results of the aforementioned activities;
  • to formulate opinions on the activation and deactivation of the DC;
  • to formulate opinions on the regulations and systems of the DC;
  • to formulate opinions on the consistency between the credits assigned to the training activities and the specific objectives of the DC;
  • to formulate opinions on the annual report on the progress of teaching activities.

4.2 As part of the functions assigned, in relation to the ANVUR self-assessment, the Joint Committee of the DC performs the functions delegated to it by the Joint Department Commission of the Department. 

4.3 The Joint Committee of the DC can set up workgroups for the study or management of limited and specifically defined topics. 

4.4 The result of the activity carried out by the Joint Committee of the DC must be brought to the attention of the Bodies (DC Councils, Joint Commission of the Department). 

Art. 5 Activities 

5.1 The Joint Committee of the DC must be operational throughout the year, meeting regularly and maintaining close contact with the Joint Commission of the Department. 

5.2 The sessions of the Joint Committee of the DC are called by the President, who also establishes the agenda, at least five days before the scheduled date, and are held according to the normal rules that apply to collegial bodies. All meetings of the Committee must be regularly recorded. The minutes and documents produced must be appropriately stored and made available to the Department. This is so that each body can, depending on its respective competence, consider the indications, observations and recommendations contained therein. 

5.3 At the beginning of each academic year, the Joint Committee of the DC prepares a calendar of meetings. 

Art. 6 Approval of the Regulations 

6.1 These Regulations are approved by the DC Council. Any changes require approval and resolution by the DC Council. 

6.2 With the entry into force of these Regulations, all provisions contained in equivalent or minor regulatory sources in conflict with it cease to be effective.
