Safety Training

COURSE ON SAFETY IN THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The course on safety in the working environment for students of the Degree Course in Veterinary Medicine consists of two parts. The first is prepared by the University’s Safety and Environment Office and the second provided by the Department of Veterinary Sciences.

This course is mandatory for all students enrolled in the degree course.

The first part of the course is of a general nature. To attend, the student must fill out a form with their personal details and sign a privacy policy that will be sent to them by the president of the degree course at the beginning of the second year. The duly completed format and privacy policy must be returned to the address: didattica@vet.unipi.it

Once the documentation has been received, the University Safety and Environment Office will send an email to each student indicating the site where to access this first part and the related verification tests. When the student has passed the checks, the Safety and Environment Office will send them the relevant certificate of suitability

The second part of the course consists of 5 self-study sessions, available on the website: test.vet.unipi.it :

  • laboratory safety course
  • slaughterhouse safety course
  • necropsy room safety course
  • radiation protection safety course
  • farm safety

For each study session a specific learning verification test is provided.

The test is carried out remotely on the Teams platform. Registration must be done directly on the test.vet.unipi.it website under the heading “Registration for the safety test” after the student authentication through Shibboleth Login button.

If more exams are scheduled, please register for one date only so as not to limit the places available. The system closes registrations two days before the date of the test, after which subscribers receive a confirmation email with the address to which they can connect to take the exam. The system accepts up to 20 registrations.

For further information, Dr. Maria Novella Benvenuti can be contacted on 050 2216893.

Students who are enrolled in the third and subsequent years in the academic year 2021-22 can participate.

PLEASE NOTE: at the end of each session the program automatically shows the test result. A failed test can be repeated at a subsequent exam session

Once the student has the certificate issued by the University and has passed the safety test prepared by the Department, they can go to the Didactic Unit where, after appropriate verification (remember to bring the certificate issued by the University), the full certification will be prepared and issued
