Agriculture, Forest and Environmental Geodata Statistical Analysis, Modelling and Machine Learning [SAFEST] The international Winter School on Agriculture, Forest and Environmental geodata Statistical analysis, modelling and machine learning [SAFEST] will provide theoretical and practical teaching on the statistical methods and tools for geodata handling and analysis, with special emphasis on soil traits, crop yield or plant biomass in the agricultural, forest, and other land uses under variable management and environmental conditions. In particular, the programme walks students through the investigation of five themes connected to small farms: economic viability and socio-cultural suitability, social services, the environment, short food chains, sustainable tourism and territorial valorisation and digitalising society. Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) Un BIP consiste in brevi periodi di attività in presenza combinati con attività di apprendimento e cooperazione online, a cui possono partecipare gruppi congiunti di studenti, personale docente e staff amministrativo provenienti da diversi paesi per collaborare a specifiche attività in modo collettivo e simultaneo. Può nascere da un programma esistente che viene rinnovato nelle modalità di erogazione o può essere del tutto nuovo, focalizzato su tematiche specifiche non insegnate altrove. Insect as Feed and Food During the Blended Intensive Program (BIP), the main topic “Insects as Feed and Food” will focus on farming systems and the practical applications of insects as human food and animal feed. The nutritional value of insects and their characteristics will also be addressed, with a view to supporting a progressive increase in animal production while reducing its negative environmental impact.
