Graduating STPA LM-86 In order to be admitted to the degree examination, students must have earned the ECTS credits corresponding to all the learning activities included in their study programme. In particular, students attending the course must have obtained the ECTS credits related to the internship as specified in the Degree Programme Regulations, in addition to the ECTS credits required for the elective courses chosen by the student. Final thesis All information regarding the application, as well as the procedures for carrying out and assessing the final dissertation, is described in the Thesis Procedure. Operational procedure The dissertation (12 ECTS) consists of the preparation of a written report on an original research project related to the topics of the Degree Programme.The dissertation may be written in a foreign language, provided this is agreed in advance with the Supervisor and Co-Supervisor, and an extended summary of the work carried out is also prepared in Italian. The discussion may be conducted in a foreign language. For the preparation of the dissertation, it is recommended to follow the relevant Guidelines (see Dissertation Forms). The student must submit the dissertation application to the competent office using the designated form (see Dissertation Forms) and subsequently submit the degree application through the University portal.The dissertation must be sent to the Co-Supervisor; the electronically signed title page by the Supervisor must be uploaded to the student portal, and finally, the complete and final version of the dissertation must be deposited in the ETD system. Key deadlines Submission of the thesis application by completing the designated form accurately and in full: at least six months before the expected date of the thesis discussion. Submission of the thesis application to the University Student Office: at least 30 days before the Final Examination. Submission of the final draft to the Co-Supervisor for the necessary revisions: at least 20 days before the discussion. Submission of a hard copy of the thesis, signed by the student and the Supervisor, to the Academic Unit: at least 2 days before the defence. Discussion and assessment The presentation has a total duration of 25 minutes: 15 minutes for the student to present their work 10 minutes for discussion, including any questions from the Committee The final evaluation consists of multiple stages: Assessment of the academic record:The evaluation of the academic record is based on a base score calculated from the weighted grade point average out of 110, to which the scores for the internship and any international experience are added, up to a maximum total of 3 points. Assessment of the thesis presentation (up to 3 points):The Committee evaluates the student’s presentation skills according to the following criteria: clarity of the presentation Quality of the visual or supporting materials used in the presentation adherence to the allocated presentation time Final grade: determined by the total of the scores from the three preceding stages.The maximum achievable grade is 110/110, with honours awarded at the Committee’s unanimous discretion.
