In case of disability or SLD To promote the integration of students with disabilities and specific learning disabilities (SLD) during their university studies, the University of Pisa provides specific services, in compliance with applicable legislation. University Services In 2000, the University of Pisa established a dedicated unit called the Services Unit for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities (USID). USID is dedicated to removing obstacles that stand between students with disabilities and university life, seeking to improve their opportunities for active participation in all its activities and facilities. The University of Pisa also offers a dedicated Help Desk for students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). This office offers assistance to those taking admission exams or assessment tests, mediation with professors before exams, specific tutoring, information on enrollment procedures and entrance tests, individual academic counselling sessions, and guidance on obtaining a diagnosis and detailed certification. The University also offers a completely free and open to all counselling and listening service, intended to assist in dealing with difficult moments that university students may encounter throughout their studies. At the University level, the Rector’s Delegate, Prof. Luca Fanucci, has been designated as responsible for support activities for students with disabilities and DSA.
