Quality Control Quality Assurance System The Quality Assurance (QA) system is a set of activities through which the Department of Veterinary Sciences (DSV) implements its Quality Policy, in line with the provisions of the national public system for the Quality Evaluation of the Universities of Pisa and Research Institutions, interacting with the Evaluation Unit (NdV) and the University Quality Committee (PdQ). The quality policy is aimed at ensuring departmental management in line not only with the provisions of the DSV Regulations, but also with the strategic priorities, operational objectives, responsibilities, timelines, and indicators defined in the Departmental Strategic Plan 2024-2026 and the Department of Excellence Project 2023-2027. The activities included in the Strategic Plan are monitored on a yearly basis, in line with the guidelines provided by the PdQ.The results of this review are recorded in the Annual Monitoring Sheet of the Plan (SMA-PSD).The monitoring sheets for each year are available for consultation. SMA-PSD SMA-PSD 31/12/24 Quality Committee The Quality Committee (or Quality Group) established by Department Council Resolution No. 315/2024 works to identify and implement synergies between the three different quality assurance systems in place within the DVS: AVA (Self-Evaluation, Evaluation, Accreditation) certification system, i.e. the national quality assurance system for higher education and research, coordinated by ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research); EAEVE certification system (European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education), the official European and international authority for the accreditation of institutions that provide courses in Veterinary Medicine; UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 international certification system, which attests to DSV’s commitment to offering services that meet customer needs and to constantly improving its processes. Quality and External Assessments European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE): The Degree in Veterinary Medicine is accredited according to the standards developed by EAEVE, an association responsible for evaluating and promoting the quality of veterinary education at the European level. UNI EN ISO 9001-2015 Certification: The DSV is certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 by the CERTIQUALITY certification body. Quality Certification represents a tool for the Department to ensure increasingly high quality standards and pursue the objectives of customer satisfaction, continuous improvement of services offered, staff engagement, and management improvement. ANVUR Audit: The Department of Veterinary Sciences was audited by ANVUR as part of the periodic accreditation of universities and degree programs, conducted from March 11 to 15, 2019. The Department was selected based on its organization of teaching activities. The results of the audit are reported in the final ANVUR periodic accreditation report for the University of Pisa. University Evaluation Committee Audit: On November 29, 2019, the University Evaluation Committee conducted a visit to assess the quality of the activities provided by the Department of Veterinary Sciences. On that occasion, the Department produced a Summary Self-Assessment Document. The University Evaluation Committee, in turn, issued its own audit feedback report. Reports Within the framework of the Quality Assurance system, the Department Council has approved a Procedure for Submissions (comments and complaints). This procedure aims to establish clear and well-defined communication channels, ensuring the receipt and analysis of submissions concerning the services and performance of the Department of Veterinary Sciences. Furthermore, it seeks to define the activities necessary for the proper management and resolution of submissions from all stakeholders. Procedure for Submissions Submissions should be addressed to the Quality Assurance Officer of the DSV (RAQ) by email, using the appropriate form.Submissions may also be made anonymously; in any case, the RAQ guarantees the anonymity of the submission.
