Post-graduation TAAEC Graduates of the Animal Breeding Techniques and Dog Education (TAAEC) program can continue their studies by enrolling in a Master’s Degree program among those that allow access from the L-38 degree class. Available options include the Master’s Degree program offered by the Department of Veterinary Sciences, Sustainable Livestock Systems, as well as other Master’s programs from different degree classes, subject to the completion of additional coursework. After graduation, it is possible to undertake a non-curricular internship, a training period carried out within a public or private organization, aimed at gaining direct experience of the professional world.This pathway is managed at the University level and provides additional support services to facilitate entry into the job market. The Career Service is the University office that supports students and recent graduates in planning and developing their careers. It offers workshops, one-on-one consultations, company events, and online portals for job opportunities, helping graduates take their first steps in the professional world. Graduating students receive career guidance through the Job Placement Working Group of the Degree Programme. The degree also qualifies graduates to take the State Exam for professional certification as a Licensed Agrotechnician, through the National Association of Agrotechnicians and Licensed Agrotechnicians. Who is a Graduate Agrotechnician? A Graduate Agrotechnician is a professional working in the agricultural, environmental, forestry, and agri-food sectors, with technical, managerial, and valuation skills. They can oversee the management and administration of farms, livestock operations, cooperatives, and agri-food processing and marketing companies, while also offering support in accounting, tax matters, and human resources management. They offer consultancy services in the agricultural sector, including hiring processes, social security paperwork, and liaison with public authorities. They can also support companies in preparing agricultural contracts and dealing with government offices. They offer technical and economic advice, draft business plans, help secure funding and grants, and support companies in carrying out land, agricultural, and forestry development projects. They operate in environmental and land protection, carrying out environmental assessments, managing livestock waste and effluents, preparing disposal plans, conducting vegetation surveys, producing landscape reports, and implementing reforestation projects. They can also design and manage green spaces, parks, and gardens, including monitoring and ensuring tree stability. In the agri-food sector, they focus on food safety (HACCP), quality control, organic production, and animal welfare, while offering consultancy for the dairy, wine, and olive oil sectors. They have skills in workplace safety, including drafting safety plans, working on construction sites, and performing roles related to worker protection and prevention. They perform various appraisal and expert activities, such as valuing land and properties, assessing damage from natural disasters, plant diseases, or wildlife, and providing reports for mortgages, public funding, and insurance claims. It also handles cadastral matters and technical procedures for rural properties, energy certifications in the agricultural sector, and technical reports for renewable energy installations such as photovoltaic and small-scale wind systems. Finally, it can provide technical support to agricultural entrepreneurs, assisting them in interactions with public authorities, financial institutions, and in disputes concerning expropriations, easements, or compensation.
