Qualification through State Examination

Graduates in Veterinary Medicine, in order to practice the profession, must obtain qualification through the State Examination, according to the procedures and guidelines published on the University website.
The examinations are held in person in July (summer session) and November (autumn session), before a Board appointed by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), following a schedule prepared by the Department of Veterinary Sciences.

Attendance by non-registered auditors is allowed; however, any form of audio or video recording of the exams is strictly prohibited.

Postgraduate opportunities

After graduation, it is possible to undertake a non-curricular internship in Italy or abroad to gain direct work experience. The internship is managed at the University level, which provides dedicated support services. Graduates can also participate in the post-graduate Erasmus program.

Graduates in Veterinary Medicine can access Specialisation Schools, which are aimed at acquiring specific knowledge and skills for carrying out particular professional activities. Several Specialisation Schools and a PhD programme are active at the Department of Veterinary Sciences. The Department’s postgraduate educational offering is completed by Master’s programmes.
