Internship SZS

The Internship consists of the student’s participation in practical activities to be carried out at University facilities or at universities or public or private institutions affiliated with the Department of Veterinary Sciences, with the aim of completing the student’s theoretical, practical, and professional training.

To carry out the internship at facilities not affiliated with the Department, it is necessary to follow the procedure for establishing a new agreement, which can be found on the dedicated page.

The Master’s Degree Programme in Sustainable Livestock Systems, as established by the Degree Programme Academic Regulations, includes a compulsory practical-training internship aimed at completing the student’s theoretical and practical education and supporting professional choices through direct exposure to the world of work.

For the completion of the internship, students must follow the Procedure for the Practical-Training Internship (PTI) and use the appropriate forms.

Internship documentation

In the case of an internship carried out within the framework of ERASMUS+ projects, in addition to this procedure, the procedure indicated in the relevant call published on the University website must be followed.

Operational procedure for the Internship

This guide does not replace the regulations, which are recommended for consultation for more detailed information.

The duration of the internship is 300 hours (12 ECTS). The internship period may be extended up to a maximum of 15 ECTS by using 3 ECTS from the elective credits.

Before starting the internship, it is mandatory to:
◆ hold a certificate of workplace safety.
have contacted the affiliated facility where the internship is to be carried out, requesting availability to undertake the internship.
◆ submit an application to activate the internship by the following deadlines:

  • 5 April
  • 5 May
  • 5 June
  • 20 September
  • 5 November
  • 5 December

For the internship activation request, the student must submit, by one of the deadlines indicated above, the original documents certifying the completion of the safety courses.
The PTI period cannot begin until at least one month has passed from the application deadline.
