The organisational aspects of the Degree Course and the educational offering are described in the Regulation.

Working students and parent-students

According to the University Teaching Regulations, the status of student worker (art. 27) and student parent (art. 23 paragraph 9) may be recognized, for which study benefits are provided.

Transfer from other Universities

For transfers from other universities or for the recognition of academic qualifications obtained abroad, the University establishes, for each academic year, the number of available places and the admission procedures. More information is available on the University website.

Exam Timetable

Students can register for exams through the University’s Valutami portal. After logging in with your credentials, simply enter the name of the instructor and the course to find the exam session relevant to your degree programme.

  • Within the Valutami portal, it is strongly recommended to complete the course evaluation questionnaires at the end of the course. It is also possible to fill out the teaching evaluation questionnaires without registering for the exam.

Compulsory courses and activities

​​To graduate, students are required to complete compulsory courses and activities designed to develop transversal skills that support their academic and professional growth.

Workplace safety courses

The workplace safety course, offered by the University, is mandatory for all degree students and must be completed before the internship.

Elective ECTS credits

During their academic career, alongside the specific learning activities, students must obtain 9 ECTS credits from elective learning activities of their own choice.
Optional ECTS can be acquired through the following activities:

  • Exams from other degree programmes within the University, subject to prior approval;
  • Additional internship activities beyond the 12 ECTS already required – up to a maximum of 3 ECTS, for a total of 15 ECTS;
  • CFU abroad – Erasmus or Internship – which will guarantee the attribution of 1 additional point on the degree grade (Resolution 35 of the Aggregate Degree Course in STPA of 05/31/2023).

If you do not have a B2 level in a European language, you must use 3 credits from the elective credits to take the test for that language level by completing the following form.

The request for recording must be sent to pratiche.studenti@vet.unipi.it, and the registration will be carried out by the Degree Programme Board.

Academic tutoring

Tutoring activities are designed to guide and support students, encourage their active participation in the study program, and, as far as possible, remove any difficulties they may encounter during their academic path. At the Department of Veterinary Sciences, various types of tutoring activities are available, which can be carried out by both faculty members and students.

Teacher Tutor

Until the 2019/2020 academic year, the University Tutoring Regulation provided for the assignment of an individual Faculty Tutor to each first-year student, to be maintained throughout their academic career. Since 2020, by resolution of the Academic Senate, Departments have been authorized to experiment with new organizational methods for faculty tutoring.
The STPA Degree Programme has assigned the following tutor lecturers to all students.

These are available to help clarify doubts about the training course. In particular, Prof. Bibbiani, the Coordinator of the Internship Commission, will answer questions regarding the internship procedure.

It is possible to contact the faculty tutors via the email address stpadocentitutor@vet.unipi.it to schedule an appointment, either in person or in the Microsoft Teams virtual classroom (code: w7jkc00).

Remember to always contact your individual tutors a week in advance to confirm their availability to receive you, considering that the teaching, research and institutional commitments of lecturers are not always predictable, so in some cases your tutor may not be able to meet the tutoring schedule indicated in the list.

Student Tutor

The student tutor is a student who provides support and guidance to the students of the Degree Program. This is a person who is currently following the study program and has likely already experienced the challenges of the academic path.

Peer Tutoring

The Peer Tutoring Service, aimed at students of all degree courses in the Department of Veterinary Sciences, is designed to provide guidance and support throughout their studies.

Access to the online student record (exams, fees, etc.)

To access the online student record, the student can log in to the ALICE portal using their credentials. On the portal, it is possible to view the exams taken and the status of tuition fee payments. If an exam already taken is not recorded, it is possible to contact Ms. Patrizia Lenzi.
